About the Author
I write about the soul and aim to illuminate the idea that we all have an inner essence that’s uniquely our own, which drives us toward our passions, inspires us to be compassionate, and informs our decisions and our creative contributions. My work skews toward speculative, magical realism, and literary/upmarket fiction.
As a lifelong storyteller and former screenwriting professor at DePaul University in Chicago, I’ve always been inspired to write stories about women. I’m a champion of the Female Myth, which shifts the ‘confront and conquer’ Male Myth paradigm to the more collaborative and compassionate ‘gather and grow’ paradigm.
My professional career includes work in advertising and marketing as a copywriter and photographer, content editor, and strategist for websites, and business development executive for film companies such as Filmworkers in Nashville, TN and at Resolution Digital Studios in Chicago. I love to teach and also taught essay writing at The School of the Art Institute in Chicago and conducted workshops on the Female Myth and Brand Storytelling.
I’m also a ceramic artist, an avid reader, a lover of plant-based recipes combined with energy enhancing meditations (TheChakraChef.com) and work in real estate.
